The first major review of the Aberdeen Homelessness Strategy has begun.
Public Policy Focus Group
This focus group is looking at issues surrounding what the Council, Registered Social Landlords, the NHS, voluntary sector organizations, agencies, and other public authorities, do which works against the overall aim of preventing and alleviating homelessness.
Some issues identified include:-
- evictions policies and procedures;
- more pro-active housing management with prevention focus;
- improved joint working within the Council (e.g. between Homelessness and other sections of the Council such as Social Work, Trading Standards, and Neighbourhood Teams);
- structured joint working and referral protocols between agencies, with feedback;
- formal information sharing agreements;
- the appropriate response to eviction notices, and notices of proposed action;
- use of the private sector;
- minority groups
The group will be meeting on
- 12 June 2008
- 10 July 2008
- 23 July 2008 - cancelled because of non attendance
- 14 August 2008
