Strategy - our first aim - prevention

We want to prevent homelessness by identifying and targeting high-risk groups, promoting awareness of homelessness amongst all agency staff, providing education advice and information for all sectors of the community and addressing the structural causes of homelessness.

The key actions identified are:-

  • Anticipating homelessness amongst members of high risk groups;
  • Promoting awareness amongst staff of the causes of homelessness and focusing on agencies rôles in preventing homelessness;
  • Reviewing and developing housing management policy in the social rented sector;
  • Providing preventative advice and information;
  • Reviewing and developing education to prevent homelessness.
